thoughts about summer

The sun is shining again today. I am really getting tired of this rain. Now if could only get a little warmer out and start to feel like spring. I didn't realize that it was Memorial Day weekend coming up until I saw the weather forecast on the news and I was wondering for a moment why there was a flag icon on Monday. A nice duh moment for me. I should have know since Walmart finally put out the popsicles out that the kids have been asking for since April.

This layout is of dd from last summer running around in the sprinkler. I made this at the crop I went to back in March, I still have a lot that I haven't posted yet. I haven't really scrapped much since I came back from that get away. I actually haven't felt like it. I'm hoping once school ends I may start to feel like it again.

happy monday!

Our garage sale went very well on Saturday. It was a nice day, a little breezy but nice. We sold the last of the big baby items we had...the play pen, stroller and toddler bed. There wasn't too much left over. I need to start making my trips to Goodwill this week.

This made me smile today. While I was making ds lunch, I heard him singing in the family room. He was singing Rock the Casbah by the Clash. Nice...rock on little man!

Here is a fast birthday card with that fun cupcake paper.

keeping busy

On Tuesday, ds had his last day of preschool. It was a nice ceremony but I can't believe that it is over and he is on summer vacation. It really went by fast and I am amazed and happy with how he has grown from the experience. I hope I can keep him as entertained as he was at school.

This Saturday is our community yard sale. I am almost done with preparing everything. There are a few more things I have to get out of the basement but I am running out of room in my garage. I really hope I can get rid of most of this stuff...most of it is toys which I think sell pretty well. What doesn't sell is going to charity. Dh and I agreed that we don't want this stuff in the house anymore.

Here is a quick birthday card I made last week.

Supplies: paper, Basic Grey. stamps, Imaginisce and Rubber Stampede. glitter, Stickles. black pen.

Happy Mother's Day card

This is the Mother's Day card I made for my mom...the queen bee. As usual, I am late with getting it to her since I mailed it out on Friday. I have good intentions. Hopefully I can get it together in time for Father's Day.

I painted the chipboard white and then put a coat of pink on top. Then I wiped some of the pink off while still wet. When that was totally dry I sealed it so the paint doesn't chip off.

Supplies: paper, 7 gypsies. stamp, Stampendous (bee) and Autumn Leaves (sentiment). chipboard, Deluxe Designs. paint. embossing powder.

Happy Mother's Day!!

card: you rock

I have been playing around with this card for awhile. I have changed it around so many different ways and then I put it aside since things weren't coming together. I pulled it back out when I started making the cards for my friend and finally got it to where I am happy with it.

Supplies: paper, Die Cuts With a View. stamps, Stampendous (Changito) and Making Memories (sentiment). ribbon and rhinestones.

After I take dd to the orthodontist tomorrow I will be meeting up with my friend to give her the cards. Her asking me to make these cards for her has inspired me to get my fanny moving and start working on my etsy shop again. I have a few new things listed if you would like to check them out. And I hope to list a few more things on Monday.

This weekend I have to continue working on my yard sale preparation for the following weekend. It is mostly moving things out of the basement and into the garage. I have already priced everything which make for a relatively easy day of carrying boxes up the stairs. Good times!

card: patriotic graduation

This is another card that I made for my friend. her brother is graduating from college and receiving his commission in the Marines. I kept it simple since I didn't want to clutter it up with too much stuff. But there is a part of me that wants to add something to the cap...maybe emboss the stamp...I don't know. I may change it before I drop them off to her on Saturday.

Supplies: paper, Karen Foster. stamp, Stampin Up. sticker, Chatterbox. ribbon, American Crafts. die cut, Sizzix. punch, Marvy.

card: celebrate cupcakes

I used up some scraps from the basket for this card. I love the look of the Cuttlebug embossing templates but don't use them as often as I should.
